Privacy Policy

1. What we collect
When you subscribe, we collect your email address. We may also receive referral or campaign information, such as UTM parameters. Through our hosting, security, and analytics providers, we may process standard technical information including your IP address, browser type, device type, approximate location, referring page, and how you use the site.
2. Why we collect it
We use this information to send and operate the newsletter, manage subscriptions, protect the site from abuse, understand site traffic, improve our coverage, and comply with law. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
3. Service providers
We use beehiiv for email delivery and subscriber management, and Cloudflare for hosting, traffic analytics, and bot protection. These providers process data on our behalf under their own privacy terms and may process information in locations outside your state or country.
4. Emails and your choices
Every marketing email will include a working unsubscribe link and the physical or mailing contact address required by the CAN-SPAM Act. We honor unsubscribe requests promptly. You may also ask us to delete your subscriber information by emailing privacy@napervillesignal.com. We may retain limited information where required for legal, security, or suppression-list purposes.
5. California privacy rights
California residents may have rights to know, access, correct, or delete personal information; to receive a portable copy; and to opt out of certain sharing or sales. We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. To make a request, email us using the address below. We may need to verify your identity, and you may use an authorized agent where permitted by law. We will not discriminate against you for exercising a privacy right.
6. Cookies and tracking
Cloudflare may use necessary cookies or similar technologies for security and bot protection. Cloudflare Web Analytics is designed to measure traffic without using client-side cookies. We do not currently use advertising cookies or cross-site behavioral tracking. If that changes, we will update this policy and provide any consent controls required by law.
7. Children
This service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child under 13 has provided information, contact us so we can delete it.
8. Security and retention
We use reasonable safeguards and limit access to personal information, but no online system is completely secure. We keep information only as long as needed for the purposes described here, including operating the newsletter and meeting legal obligations.
9. Policy changes
We may update this policy as our practices or legal obligations change. The date above shows the latest revision. Material changes will be communicated when appropriate.
10. Contact
